For Group-1 Examination:
The Group 1 Examination of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) occurs in three phases, namely:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Main’s Examination (Conventional Type)
- Interview/Oral Test

Preliminary exam:
The APPSC preliminary exam is a screening test carried out to shortlist the candidates for the next examination level. The exam consists of one paper of the objective type. For reservation candidates, minimum qualifying marks will be given as per the rules.

Main’s Examination:
Candidates who have qualified for the preliminary examination must go to the second level, i.e. The main examination includes five conventional papers and is a standard degree syllabus. The qualifying one is the General English paper and its marks are not considered for the final ranking. All the question papers, with the exception of general English, may be answered either in Telugu or Urdu or in English by the candidate chosen. For reservation candidates, minimum qualifying marks will be given as per the rules. Personal Interview/Oral Test:
Candidates who have appeared and are qualified for the Mains exam will be called for an interview with 75 marks. In this interview, the board will test the attitude and decision-making capabilities of the applicant.

For Group-2 Examination:
The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC)’s Group 2 Examination is conducted in two phases

Written Examination:
- Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) conducts Group 2 examination as per their rules.
- The exam consists of objective type questions.
- Time for every paper is Two and Half Hours (2 1/2 Hrs.)
- The duration of exam is 150 Minutes

Interview/Document Verification:
Candidates should bring their Original documents and other particulars at the time of verification.
Selection Process:
The selection of the candidates is based on three steps. First of all candidates appear in the screening test. After that, shortlisted candidates need to go for a round which is a written test. At last those candidates, who are successful, qualify after these rounds they can be called for Interview/ Document Verification. In this procedure candidates have to bring Original documents and other particulars.
